In 2010, a group of educators, frustrated with traditional tutoring methods got together and decided that a hand-full of people could in fact make a difference in the way student skills were remediated and advanced. They started a tutoring company called SIENNA Educates with one goal in mind. Their purpose was to positively impact the lives of students with learning difficulties and challenges.
Tools: We use a variety of training and tutoring services to prepare students of all ages from all walks of life for a brighter future filled with new promises. Each learning path is specifically for the individual student.
Focus: Our instructors target skill gaps, skill advancement and college preparatory training services.
Tutors: Our tutors have successfully changed the lives of hundreds of students helping them overcome critical learning difficulties. We welcome difficult challenges, our goal is to equip your child with the tools needed to succeed.
In many cases traditional tutoring costs have prohibited companies from attaining true academic success and skill gap breakthrough.
The "hit and run" approach in tutoring just doesn't get results. Skill development takes a targeted instructional approach reinforced by continued application until the skills are mastered.
With this in mind, we offer a flat fee of $155.00 per month for three 1.5 hour sessions per week. (GED and College Prep training courses vary.)
The Intervention program helps students close academic skill gaps. Assessments are used to identify core areas needing remediation. Students are then placed on an individualized learning path in coordination with their current academic requirements. They attend three (1.5) hour sessions per week to focus on rebuilding the skills needed to close academic skill gaps. Our tutoring program is aligned with the Florida Common Core Standards. We assist students with homework, prepare for exams, while helping them rebuild missing skills that hinder their performance. In this program, emphasis is placed on getting the student on grade level, building a strong bench of academic skill sets for sustainability and promotion to the acceleration program. The Acceleration Program helps students performing on or above grade level maintain and strengthen advanced academic skill sets. The process begins with an initial assessment. Then each student is assigned a personal tutor, placed on an individual learning path and self-paced learning is used to reinforce materials covered in tutoring sessions. In this program, emphasis is placed on getting students prepared and well positioned for college entrance exams and college acceptance.
Did you know, your student's placement on the PSAT determines how much they will receive in grant funding from the National Merritt Scholarship Programs. This exam is normally taken in the 10th grade. We recommend, students begin preparing as early as middle school to ensure exposure and mastery of the materials covered on the national exam. Through our college prep program, we offer courses for the PSAT, ACT, and SAT. All SIENNA courses begin with an assessment and include self-paced supplementary modules to support one-on-one instruction with an onsite tutor or remotely with a virtual tutor. Our programs are designed to help your students prepare for Magnet School and Honor's Programs. We work with parents to identify goals, assign tutors and place students on individual learning paths. We work jointly with parents, teachers and students to build a comprehensive approach to your child's success.
